Whooping cough vaccine 'could save children's lives'

A whooping cough booster vaccination for parents of new babies could save deaths from the disease in young children, doctors said today.

Vaccination is effective and is usually given to infants at two to four months of age, with a further booster after three years – but they can catch it from affected household members before that time.
