Man jailed over YouTube gun film
A British man who appeared in an internet video handling semi-automatic handguns was today sentenced to five years in a young offenders institute.
Anthony Horrocks, 20, was caught when police viewed the footage on YouTube.
In the video a pair of unidentified gloved hands were shown handling what appear to be two semi-automatic handguns and a loading magazine with what appear to be bullets.
Manchester police obtained a warrant and searched his home in Bolton on January 9, where they
discovered two firearms and 200 rounds of ammunition. Horrocks was arrested at a different address a short time later.
Horrocks was found guilty of two counts of possessing a prohibited firearm and three counts of possessing ammunition without the correct authority, following a trial at Manchester Crown Court.
Detective Constable Dave Fox of Bolton CID said: “This kind of action is completely unacceptable. Regardless of whether or not he intended to use the weapon, harbouring one will not be tolerated and carries severe repercussions.”
