Bangkok airport mob ignores army plea to leave

Protesters who brought Bangkok airport to a standstill stranding thousands of travellers refused a plea from the country’s army chief to halt their action today.

All flights were cancelled and passengers taken to hotels, as protesters shut down Suvarnabhumi Airport in a major escalation of their four-month campaign to remove the prime minister.
