Irish urged to exercise extra caution in Thailand
The Department of Foreign Affairs is advising Irish people travelling in Thailand to exercise extra caution.
The department is also advising travellers to avoid large gatherings in Bangkok.
The warning comes as anti-government protestors continue a last-ditch push to bring down the prime minister.
The protestors shut down Bangkok Airport today after storming the facility.
Anti-government demonstrations have been ongoing in Bangkok for several months and have sometimes led to clashes with police.
Several grenade attacks have also been carried out against the demonstrators.
