China acts on Everest's mini crime wave

China has been forced to boost its police numbers at the base of Everest amid increasing cases of theft, prostitution and gambling.

A growing influx of people to the area has brought more crime to the north face of Everest, including thefts of food, oxygen tanks and climbing gear.
