Girl shot by fellow pupil in British primary school
A young girl was shot with an air gun by another pupil at a primary school in Britain, a head teacher confirmed today.
The shooting happened at Berry Hill Primary School, near Coleford, in Gloucestershire, on Tuesday, when a male pupil shot the nine-year-old girl in the leg.
The girl was said to be deeply shocked although not seriously hurt.
It is not known how the boy came to have the air gun, or what provoked the shooting.
Police said: “We can confirm we have received a report of an incident at a Forest of Dean primary school, involving two pupils and the discharge of an air weapon.
“Officers attended the school and seized the weapon concerned.
“However, due to the age of the children involved, the matter has now been passed into the hands of Social Services.”
