MEPs vote against reform of 'booze cruise' rules
British MEPs revived the “booze cruise” war with Brussels in a vote to revise the rules on limits on cross-Channel shopping for cheap alcohol and cigarettes.
A long-running battle between the UK's Treasury and eurocrats erupted when some shoppers’ cars were impounded and goods confiscated for exceeding “guideline” amounts of low-duty goods being brought into the UK.
