China mine blast kills 24

The death toll from a coal mine explosion last week in northern China rose to 24 with the discovery of another body today, a state news report said.

The blast last Wednesday at the Yaotou mine in Shaanxi province’s Chengcheng County trapped 36 miners in an underground shaft, according to the official Xinhua News Agency.
