Congress vote 'not the end' of bail-out, says Bush

The rejection of a $700bn (€487bn) rescue package for the US economy was "not the end" for the bill and "Congress must act", President George Bush said today.

Mr Bush was speaking as the economic rescue package lay in tatters after it was rejected by the lower house of the US Congress yesterday.
