Obama and McCain focus on economy

America’s presidential rivals shifted their campaign efforts to the economy today as the country woke to the disappearance of two Wall Street giants.

Barack Obama called the falls of Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch “the most serious financial crisis since the Great Depression” of the 1930s.
