Tussauds returns wax Hitler to Berlin bunker

Madame Tussauds today returned a wax figure of Adolf Hitler to its newly opened Berlin branch, weeks after the statue was beheaded by a 41-year-old German.

The British waxworks makers said the figure was placed in a replica of the Nazi leader’s bunker which is not accessible to the public in an effort to ensure its protection.

Tussauds defended its display of the Hitler figure in Berlin as “a legitimate part of our show”, saying he “stands for an important part of German history”.

It said the figure was on display again as of today.

The presence of the Nazi dictator’s likeness in the new museum led to criticism in German media ahead of the opening in July.
