Earthquake sparks tsunami warning

A strong earthquake has shaken central Indonesia, causing tall buildings in the capital Jakarta to sway and prompting a tsunami alert.

A government geologist said the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.6 and struck at a depth of roughly 12 miles in the Sunda Strait, around 155 miles northeast of the capital.
