Bomb blast at popular Spanish beach resort
A bomb has exploded on a beach in the popular Spanish resort of Torremolinos, a government department said today.
The Spanish Interior Ministry said no-one was injured in the blast from the small device in the Costa del Sol resort.
Ministry spokesman Paco Gil said the device went off shortly after midnight today near the Hotel Sol Aloha. Hundreds of people were walking along the seafront at the time.
No group has claimed immediate responsibility.
The Basque separatist group ETA has set off similar bombs in other parts of Spain in recent weeks. The blast comes after a number arrests of suspected ETA members.
Spanish National Radio said there were some 800 guests in the hotel including many foreign tourists.
