India: Blasts kill 39, injure 110

Indian police say 39 people have been killed in multiple blasts in the western city of Ahmadabad.

The city’s police control room reported today that another 110 people have been wounded in the 16 explosions that hit several neighbourhoods last night.

The blasts came a day after seven small explosions hit the southern technology hub of Bangalore, killing two people.

Several Indian cities have been targeted by serial blasts in recent months. The attacks have been blamed on Islamic militants.
