Coffins seen ahead of Middle East prisoner swap
Hezbollah TV showed two black coffins on the Israel-Lebanon border today, ahead of a planned prisoner swap between the two countries.
They were believed to contain the bodies of two Israeli soldiers captured by the militant group two years ago.
Israel has said it believed the men were dead, but Hezbollah had never commented on their condition.
This was the first confirmation that the soldiers may be dead. DNA testing will confirm their identities.
The coffins were placed near a Hezbollah tent on the seashore near the Naqoura border crossing.
They were being exchanged today in a UN-mediated deal for five Lebanese prisoners and bodies of dead militants.
