Three men accused of plotting a series of terrorist attacks on transatlantic jets today pleaded guilty at Woolwich Crown Court in London to conspiring to cause explosions.

The trio, and two other defendants, also pleaded guilty to conspiring to cause a public nuisance by publishing videos threatening suicide bomb attacks.

The guilty pleas came as their trial was drawing to a close. A jury must still decide if the five men and three other defendants are guilty of conspiring to murder thousands of people by smuggling home-made liquid bombs onto passenger jets.
