Five injured in final bull-run

Five people were hurt in the last running of the bulls at this year’s San Fermin festival in Spain, a doctor said today.

Navarra Hospital director Javier Yurs said the injuries included a fractured collar bone and hand, but no gorings.

Today’s run was the last of eight at the event in Pamplona.

The pack of six fighting bulls stayed together for much of the run, which makes the sprint through the cobbled streets safer.

Some of the bulls fell and pile-ups of fallen humans formed at several stages, but the run was largely smooth.
