Sarkozy vows to 'protect Europeans'

French President Nicolas Sarkozy admitted “the European idea will be in danger” if measures are not taken to protect the continent’s citizens.

Mr Sarkozy made his remarks in a TV interview as France assumed the rotating presidency of the European Union.
