Mugabe opponent arrested on return to Zimbabwe

The top aide to Zimbabwe’s leading anti-Mugabe politician was arrested when he flew back to the country today.

Tendai Biti, secretary-general of the Movement for Democratic Change party, had predicted his arrest before leaving South Africa earlier.

Reporters waiting for Mr Biti at Harare airport did not see him arrive.
