Brown wins Terror vote with DUP support

The British prime minister Gordon Brown has narrowly won a vote on extending the maximum time police can hold terrorists suspects to 42 days.

It was passed by just nine votes on the back of support from DUP MPs, nine of whom effectively saved Mr Brown from his first Commons defeat
