Earthquake hits Greece
Authorities say a very strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.5 has struck south-western Greece.
At least three people have been injured, and there are reports of a further five people trapped in a collapsed house.
Emergency services say two people were slightly injured in the province of Ahaia by a falling roof, and one on the island of Lefkada by falling rocks.
The US Geological Survey said today’s quake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.1, while the Athens Geodynamic Institute gave a preliminary magnitude of 6.5.
Magnitudes provided by different institutions often vary in the early hours or days after an earthquake.
