Pakistani premier vows to step up anti-terror fight

Pakistani prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has vowed to step up the fight against terrorism as officials investigate who exploded a car bomb outside the Danish Embassy that killed at least six people.

No-one has claimed responsibility for yesterday’s attack in Islamabad.

However, it came weeks after al-Qaida threatened Denmark over the reprinting in Danish newspapers of caricatures of Islam’s Prophet Mohammed.

Today, police official Riasat Ali said officers were still trying to determine who launched the attack.

Mr Gilani said that the bombing would “redouble our resolve” not only to capture the culprits but also to “continue on our avowed path to fight terrorism and extremism”.
