Quake woman survives nine days trapped

A Chinese news agency says a woman has been rescued nine days after being trapped in a tunnel at a hydropower plant by the massive earthquake to hit Sichuan province.

Xinhua News Agency said today she was trapped in the tunnel in Hongbai.

It did not immediately give any other details.

The country’s government today raised the confirmed death toll from the May 12 earthquake to more than 41,000 people.
