Chinese dam declared safe

The Chinese government has pronounced the Zipingpu Reservoir dam safe after it was inspected by experts.

Thousands of troops were fighting to plug cracks in the facility, which is upstream from Dujiangyan, near the epicentre of the recent 7.9-magnitude earthquake.
