Police in Austria were today questioning a 39-year-old man who said he killed his wife and seven-year-old daughter.

Police in Austria were today questioning a 39-year-old man who said he killed his wife and seven-year-old daughter.

Detectives were also trying to determine if he killed his parents and father-in-law who were also found dead.

Police spokeswoman Karin Strycek said the man came to a police station in the capital, Vienna, early today, saying he had killed his wife and daughter in his home.

She said officers found the bodies and determined that the pair were killed with an axe.

Ms Strycek said police also found the bodies of the man’s parents and father-in-law in Linz and Ansfelden in Upper Austria province and were investigating a possible connection.
