Pro-Western Tadic claims Serbia election victory

Serbia’s pro-Western president Boris Tadic has declared victory in parliamentary elections, edging out ultranationalists who tried to exploit anger over Kosovo’s independence.

But his rivals vowed to try to cobble together a majority, and it was unclear if he could stave off their challenge.
