Medvedev inaugurated as Russian president

Dmitry Medvedev took the Russian presidential oath of office today, succeeding his patron, Vladimir Putin.

The inauguration ceremony in the Kremlin’s Andreyevsky Hall brought Mr Putin’s eight-year reign to an end, but he is expected to continue to wield huge influence in the country.
