South Korea’s Coast Guard said at least eight people have been killed and 12 others injured after being swept away by a sudden wave that crashed into a wharf.

Coast Guard officer Lee Won-il said today’s accident occurred as the large wave jumped a bulwark near Daecheon, about 120 miles south of Seoul.
