Al-Qaida chief killed in US air strike in Somalia

An Islamic militant group said today the man believed to be the head of al-Qaida in Somalia had been killed in a US air strike along with eight other people.

The spokesman for the Islamic Al-Shabab militia said the overnight strike killed Aden Hashi Ayro at his house in the central Somali town of Dusamareeb.
