Man survives 500-foot fall

A man has survived a 500-foot fall into an abandoned mine in Pennsylvania, astounding US rescuers who spent hours on a risky descent into the pit to bring him back out.

Police said Nathan Bowman was trespassing on coal company property when he slipped and fell into the abandoned mine.
