Scores arrested as riot police raid Zimababwe opposition HQ

Riot police and intelligence officers today ransacked Zimbabwe’s opposition party headquarters and the offices of independent election monitors.

Hundreds were arrested in the strongest signal yet that Zimbabwe’s leader Robert Mugabe intends to cling to power in the face of a growing global clamour for him to step aside.
