Foreigners wanting to enter the Amazon could require prior authorisation from military officials, Brazil’s national justice secretary said today.

Romeu Tumo Jr said the government was months away from sending a bill to Congress in order to prevent foreign meddling and illegal activity in the world’s largest remaining tropical wilderness.
