British Foreign Secretary David Miliband met Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf today, a day after backing plans by Pakistan’s new government to negotiate with militants who renounce violence.

British Foreign Secretary David Miliband met Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf today, a day after backing plans by Pakistan’s new government to negotiate with militants who renounce violence.

A Pakistan foreign ministry spokesman said Mr Musharraf and Mr Miliband discussed the war on terror at today’s meeting. Mr Miliband then went to see new Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.
