Matthews mother charged in connection with disappearance

The mother of Shannon Matthews was charged by police today in connection with the alleged abduction of her daughter.

Karen Matthews (aged 32) will appear before magistrates in Dewsbury tomorrow charged with perverting the course of justice and child neglect.
