Olympic flame arrives in Britain
The Olympic torch arrived in Britain tonight in readiness for it to be paraded through the streets of London tomorrow.
Chinese ambassador Fu Ying and Minister for the Olympics Tessa Jowell were at Heathrow Airport to greet a delegation of Beijing Games officials off an Air China plane.
The plane, which flew in from St Petersburg in Russia, touched down just before 7.30pm.
A host of famous names from the world of sport and entertainment will carry the flame tomorrow along a 31-mile route from Wembley Stadium via the site of the 2012 London Games in Stratford to the finishing point at the O2 Dome in Greenwich.
