US President George Bush has called for Nato members to step up troop contributions in Afghanistan, highlighting Osama bin Laden’s latest threats to Europe.

Mr Bush said that if the alliance did not stay on the offensive in Afghanistan, Taliban and al-Qaida extremists would use the country to launch more attacks on the West like those on September 11, 2001.
