Sarkozy arrives for UK visit

French president Nicolas Sarkozy touched down in Britain today at the start of a state visit he hopes will signal a new “brotherhood” between the two neighbours.

The head of state flew into London’s Heathrow Airport accompanied by his Italian supermodel-turned-singer wife Carla Bruni and a delegation of senior politicians.
