Barack Obama won the Mississippi primary election as he put his campaign back on track for the Democratic presidential nomination today.

The young Illinois senator beat Hillary Clinton in the Deep South contest by a wide margin, winning 60% of the vote compared with the former first lady’s 38%, results from 99% of the Democratic precincts showed.
