Leon Greenman, the only Englishman sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp, died today, a museum said. He was 97.

Leon Greenman, the only Englishman sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp, died today, a museum said. He was 97.

Greenman was born in London in 1910 but was living in the Netherlands with his Dutch wife and young son when the family was sent by the occupying Nazi forces to the camp in 1943.
