Tsunami warning after Indonesia earthquake

Indonesia issued a tsunami warning today after a powerful earthquake struck off the western coast of Sumatra island.

The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 7.2 and had the “potential to cause a tsunami”, Indonesia’s geophysics agency said in a statement.
