Israel on alert for Hamas border breakout

Israel has mobilised police and the military to keep a Hamas demonstration today against its Gaza blockade from turning into a mass border breakout.

Hamas was planning to send thousands of civilians in the direction of the Erez crossing between Israel and Gaza, protesting at chronic shortages of vital supplies in Gaza because of the Israeli restrictions.
