Pakistan blast kills 37
A suicide bomber rammed his car into an election office in north-western Pakistan today, killing at least 37 people and wounding more than 90 others, government officials said. A witness described bodies lying in pools of blood.
The attack in Parachinar, a volatile area bordering Afghanistan, came two days ahead of parliamentary elections that are considered crucial to restoring democracy following eight years of military rule under President Pervez Musharraf.
