Mormons mourn death of church leader
Tens of thousands of Mormons attended the funeral of church president Gordon B. Hinckley who has died at the age of 97.
The funeral at the conference centre of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City capped a week of mourning.
“He was our prophet, seer and revelator. He was an island of calm in a sea of storm,” said Thomas S. Monson, a friend for more than 50 years, and who is likely to be Hinckley’s successor.
