Bid launched to rescue trapped miners
Teams were working today to rescue three foreigners trapped in a remote cave in New Zealand, police said.
The trio, a 22-year-old English man, a 22-year-old man from Wales and a 27-year-old American woman, became trapped in Harwood's Hole, near Murchison on South Island, earlier in the day.
A fourth member of the group, a Canadian, made it out of the 650ft (200m) deep sinkhole to raise the alarm.
The cave is one of New Zealand's largest known underground limestone cave complexes.
