UN chief urges nations to back climate change plan

United Nations secretary general Ban Ki-moon urged Bali climate conference delegates today to quickly approve a “good and strong” compromise plan to kick-start negotiations for a new global warming pact.

A last-minute dispute between developing countries and the UN blocked progress at the two-week conference, despite a compromise that resolved a dispute between the United States and Europe.
