Fights mar debate in South Korea’s National Assembly
Fights broke out between rival politicians in South Korea’s National Assembly today in an emotion-charged debate leading up to next week’s presidential elections.
Members of the opposition Grand National Party scuffled with the ruling United New Democratic Party who introduced a bill to try and impeach front-running candidate Lee Myung-bak.
Prosecutors last week cleared Myung-bak of being an accomplice in a stock-price manipulation case, an outcome expected to cement his lead in the vote.
