Austria: Kidnap ordeal girl to get her own TV show
The young Austrian woman who became world-famous after being kidnapped and kept in a cell for more than eight years is to get her own TV show.
Natascha Kampusch ,19, who fled to freedom in August last year after being snatched as a 10-year-old, will host a talk show on a new private Austrian channel to be launched in February.
Ms Kampusch plans to steer clear of traditional interview questions and will instead hold “very open” conversations with her guests.
Kampusch was kidnapped in Vienna on her way to school in March 1998. She was held for the next eight years by Wolfgang Priklopil, who largely confined her to a tiny underground dungeon in his home in a quiet Vienna suburb.
Priklopil threw himself in front of a train just hours after Kampusch escaped.
