In a 35-page explanation of its ruling last week that University of Washington student Amanda Knox should stay jailed in the probe of the murder of Meredith Kercher, 21, a three-judge panel in the Italian town of Perugia described Knox as “self-assured and cunning,” but also naive and with a tendency for theatrics, Kercher family lawyer Francesco Maresca told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.
