Three held trying to sell radioactive material

Three people have been arrested for trying to sell a kilogram of nuclear material in Slovakia, police said tonight.

Specialists were examining the radioactive substance to determine exactly what it is, a police spokesman said.

He said the three allegedly planned a deal to sell the material for €700,000.

Two of the suspects were arrested in eastern Slovakia, the other in Hungary.
