Miliband to call for 'model power' EU
UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband will use his first major speech on Britain’s relations with the rest of the European Union today to reject a “superstate”.
He will call for the EU to have a new role as a “model power” and endorse the need for a strong bloc fighting protectionism, promoting free trade, tackling energy and environmental concerns and cracking down on terrorist threats driven by religious extremists.
